They can roll all four tightly and shove them, as far as I'm concerned.
Whenever something goes amiss as in this case a radicalized terrorist, instead of going after ISIS, Al Qaeda or the bad guys that produced the propaganda that turned the guy; lets go after Americans and our rights.
Heck instead of calling for ISIS's ass on a platter the President was bucking for gun control within hours of the attacks, and the terrorist clearly stated he was killing the folks in support of ISIS.
I say improve intel sharing which doesn't require any new laws and enforce the laws on the books.

Greetings,

I doubt if any of these laws will keep weapons out of the hands of criminals. There is probably a ton of warm weapons in Chicago with the gang bangers.

Honest people will read keeping weapons out of the hands of folks with mental issues as a good thing. But, those making these bills will place all you honest, unwashed American nationalists on the list. All those with PTSD? All those who worship G-d the Father in Christ's name? How about anyone that ever got mad at an ex-wife and yelled a curse word? Well, you are unstable. All of you.

It's an end run around the Bill of Rights. It's like making any water source controlled by the government. It's the camel nose under the tent to destroy private property rights. It will be the same with this mental issue. Mission creep.

Another example of one battle in a larger war.

This is all political theater intended to create the illusion of action. Everyone in the audience knows the outcome. It serves no purpose other than to allow us to work out our grief and anger. Whether a bill is passed or not matters not. The effect is the same in either case because guns are not the problem. What is the problem? I wish I knew. And until we can identify the real problem we don't have a chance in hell of solving it. Why am I so sure that guns aren't the problem? Simple. Violence of this type is greatest in the places with the least guns and the most stringent gun controls. So wake me when it's over and get ready to count the bodies at the next incident.
