We are smart to not leave Afghanistan or it will be another ISIL or AL Quaida respawn ground.

Thanks Stephen. I haven't seen this footage. That amazes me, since so many threw down their weapons or turned on us in a fire fight. I guess they figured since we were gone or leaving, they better cover their own butts as much as they could. I'm kinda proud of them now.

SGT (Join to see) - So is my retired Vietnam Friend COL John Cole here on RP. He was a 1LT there in 1968-69 and he was wounded as a PL by a punji stick. He feels ashamed of his Purple heart and medevac to Japan but at least it was not a boucing betty added to the boobytrap.

LTC (Join to see), We picked up a lot of troops who stepped on Pungi sticks. With poisonous human waste on the sticks it creates a nasty wound. He's s lucky the poison didn't get into his blood stream and cause septic shock, and die from it. He certainly shouldn't be ashamed of a PH. When I had to get out of my chopper or when I was on a patrol, outside our green line, Pungi sticks were me greatest worry. I didn't want to get that poison in me and have my leg or foot amputated, or die from it. I'll look him up and thank him for his service. Thanks.

Thanks for the discussion SGT (Join to see). I hope that the expanded strikes will include the border region with Pakistan and especially the northwest territories which is generally lawless in may respects and has many pockets of Taliban, al- Qaeda cells and their sympathizers.
I recognize that cross border strikes are risky but they have proved successful in the past. I expect that when well planned, cross border strikes can be effective in the future.
Thanks for drawing my attention to this discussion LTC (Join to see)
