Mentorship is something dear to my heart. I have a number of mentors and I mentor a number of Officers, Warrant Officers and NCOs. I found this article in Forbes and is pretty good to explain how mentorship works for both the mentor and the mentee. I would encourage everyone to have a mentor and leaders take the time to mentor your replacement. The article asks the question "what does the mentor get out for the relationship?" For it is seeing great Soldiers having successful careers and meeting their goals.
