SFC Matthew Mason Brother... I'm am absolutely floored. I just don't know what to say. I spent 11 years with the 101st... 327, 187, DISCOM, CSG... hell I was the HHC DISCOM 1SG for awhile in 99/00. As I read the article murderous thoughts drifted through my mind... and I don't know what I would have done. To you I will say... Rock Steady and Charlie Mike... but do not Stand Alone. Wishing never changed anything... but I wish something could have been done for SGT Barnes... I don't think Barnes would want you to carry any guilt...the guilt is on the perpetrator and senior leadership.

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."
-Edmund Burke

I am appalled that Senior Leaders pretty much did nothing to protect their Soliders from this POS.

Not sure what happened to the rest, but the battalion commander got his Eagle and now commanding a Stryker Bde in beautiful Hawaii.

There is much more to this story than what was told in the original article. I have been in constant contact with SOFREP and demand answers for their intentionally deceiving tactics when writing this. Even my quotes were hacked up and placed in the article to further make the unit look bad. I worked with COL Womack when he was a Major and then our BN CDR. He would NOT have let this go on if he were made aware the first time! NOR would have CSM Judd! 1SG Cavataio hated Santoro!

Those are just a few points that need to be made clear.

The reason is clear, since the potus and congress ordered gays into the service with no regulatory reprisals, this led to the situation described. The standing orders from our lackluster leadership was and is to look the other way and do not cause any problems for these types. Yes, the generals in the Army have no backbone, they are not leaders and condone this type of behavior. Congress has ruled this and you can thank the progressive liberals for ruining the service. There is no morale, morals, discipline, self respect, accountability, responsibility, honor or selfless service. The core values have been thrown out and shiftless behavior is now the norm. No quality leader above the rank of LTC will take a stand and place his career on the line to stop this shit from happening. Apply the regulations and use them to the advantage of good leadership and then good things will happen. But it will tak a long time to be seen.

LTC Joseph George My apologies for taking so long to reply to this. Have you always been this way?

Your statement, potus and congress ordered gays into the service with no regulatory reprisals" and calling them, "these types," is appalling. People of all sexual orientations have been serving in the military since forever. The disservice was not allowing them to be who they were while serving. The military made them hide and sacrifice a key aspect of their lives and who they were in order to serve.

Here's the thing, the VAST majority of sex crimes in the military aren't committed by gays, but by straight men against women - against their fellow Servicemembers.

Do you still think that gays are the problem in the military?

MAJ Bryan Zeski - The vast number of sex crimes are false. I am not saying all are false, but a vast number are. This includes gays as well. After the investigations are concluded, the perps whether male, female or gay are prosecuted. Most of the problems still lie within the failure of leadership. There are only two sexes, but many choices according to you. The BS is sexual orientation, it is a forced down issue from the political entity. The value system the Army purports is now a joke as many leaders do not follow or believe in those values and they do not make sure their soldiers follow them either. I spent 40 years in the Army both enlisted and Officer ans I have seen it all. You do not have to believe or understand my point of view.

MSgt Steve Sweeney - Applying the regulations across the board in a fair and equitable manner. No one is an exception, everyone held to the same standard. The problem is in the leadership and can't be fixed until all facets are applied and all investigations are completed properly. No "I am your friend" treat me as I am the victim. The regulations are the key and I do not give one shit about someone screwing their career and everyone trying to save them. That is what screws the system. If a leader is good, everyone knows it and likewise the same for a poor leader. As of now all leadership systems breed mediocre or less leaders.

LTC Joseph George - Where do you see that people in the military are NOT being held to the same standard?

And it sounds like you are saying that the DoD estimated number of sexual assaults (20,000) is a lie? That these people who are saying they were assaulted are just full of crap? I don't buy that. They have absolutely nothing to gain by reporting it that way. No one is getting in trouble, they aren't getting more disability or time off - zero benefit to answer "yes" to that question.

No one here said anything about the number of sexes.

You said something about "BS sexual orientation." Are you saying that people CHOOSE to be gay or straight? That people choose who they are attracted to?
