While there is No Forgiving what they have done. I do have a few Questions, How much has Congress (Holder of the Checkbook) put aside for Records Storage? Just the Perspective and Ramblings of a Retired Navy Spook Communicator that Handled Tons and Tons of Classified Government Messages (Some were actually referred to as Book Messages). Have you seen the "Books" that are Our Older Veterans Medical Records. I have helped some of these Veterans with their Medical Books. I have been hearing about Problems with the VA when I was a Lad in Kansas City watching the Vietnam Veterans coming home. Until we start "Investing" (Yes that means spending money) in our Veterans Future (Medically in this case) Nothing is going to Change. Call me a Tax and Spend Liberal Socialist Democrat if you must but I don't have a Problem with Taxes if it goes to take care of You All, My Shipmates!

An IG investigation was conducted and found these horrible acts being conducted.
1. Who has been held accountable (read fired) . I know there is a union, but if this isn't gross negligence I can't think of what would qualify.
2. What supervisor has been held accountable? See 1 for further comments on this.
3. What actions have been implemented to ensure that this never happens again? We used to call it corrective training.
Sadly I personally count among the Philadelphia VA Veterans fighting to get proper medical attention. I have experienced first hand the bumbling, disrespectful, incompetent, unreliable, unprofessional, dispicable conduct from many employees and providers there. I can go on and on.
Some things that I have found useful; I have made on the spot corrections which are really effective, even with civilians, but only after politeness, courtesy and kind, caring communication has failed. I've called the Patient Advocate, which is also (mostly) effective. With them you just have to get past their excuse making and keep them on the question at hand and follow through.
Ive called my Congressman after a reasonable amount of time and after all else has failed.
In fairness, I've connected with outstanding providers and other employees there, but they are very few and far between, and those are the ones I keep close.
These are just some of the methods I've used and found helpful.
