Army, Air Force most vulnerable in Pentagon's new base closure plan

Never going to happen. Previous BRAC's had a major negative impact on local economies. Over the previous BRAC's, California alone lost 3 Army bases, 6 Air Force bases, and a handful of Navy and Marine bases. As long as the politicians have a hand in the process, it will be very difficult to convince them to hurt their local economies. The big picture for them is not a healthier military, its keeping their jobs.

No wonder the economy in areas is going to the dogs. Keep closing bases that are helpful to the economy of some areas and we might as well just have nothing but guard and reserve units.

They will consolidate them!
