I was my unit's IMO for the latter part of my enlistment, and it was a lot of fun, from what I was doing. Couldn't get into the more technical/programming side, as it was a strict hierarchy and we had to go through the Group IMO for major changes. I did, however, redid all of my units page, and created and modified subsequent pages (for sections). Also, the IMO part entailed getting info for C2 systems, but the higher relied on G/S-2 for that...

I had similar experiences with lack of rights. Remedy and help desk tickets were the only options when many things needed to be done.

It is amazing how much this role has grown since this was published in 2006, it is sad that many people still cant keep up with these things in their roles as a IMO

I wish I had thought to create a website for my unit when younger. I'd probably be a lot more into webmaster stuff right now. I'm not sure I've ever seen a failing IMO.

lol I took the 40hr Course back in USAEUR in 2000. I can honestly say that I am obsolete in the skills required now.

I'm not sure if your course was similar to the online IMO training course I took in '08 but I have no idea what I did during that training. That was my first task when I got to my first unit.
