Duties
· The primary purpose of this position is to perform professional-level research, writing, and editorial duties; and serve as a team leader within the AU Press publication system on a wide range of tasks and functions.
· Plans and prepares new texts and revises existing ones. Externally, deals directly with authors and project officers expeditiously and effectively to develop and improve manuscripts, coordinate changes, monitor and report project status, and meet customer expectations.
· Acts as a consultant and troubleshooter to management, faculty, and other personnel from AU schools and academic agencies on planning and designing materials for publication.
· Serves on such AUL, AU Press, and branch groups as the Continuous Improvement Evaluation Team, Technology Working Group, process action teams, tiger teams, or others as required. Maintains currency in word processing programs used by AU Press; in research, writing, and content editing knowledge and skills; and of general knowledge about a wide variety of military subjects.
