It's a cultural thing, we see it as the evil serpent versus the helpless puppy. The Chinese see it as just a dog being eaten by a big snake. If the snake hadn't eaten it, it probably would've been on someone's menu anyway. Chinese slaughter millions of dogs a year for consumption.

I read a good bit about that dog eating festival in China a few months ago. Interesting, to say the least.

Could it be because there is a 10 foot slithery thing about to eat a cute and helpless puppy? And you can see the fear in the puppies eyes but it refuses to move out of fear?

Makes Sense Now. A little Outrage Material for a British Tabloid, The Brits love their Dogs, China they view them no different than Cattle for the most Part, a Source of Meat. You do this in the UK and you would be in some serious Trouble.
