In all fairness yes it should. I'm not sure about the full circumstances regarding this, but taking offensive action rather than defensive is what makes the difference. I'm still wondering if there wasn't something said that sparked this, but I've been called every name under the sun. If I reacted to every instance, I'd be looking at a long bid in prison or dead. He's a SM, and we're held to a higher standard than the common man or woman.

CSM (Join to see) - Is that code for "you can call me whatever you want as long as Sergeant Major is at the beginning and end of your sentence and you realize your career is now over" CSM?

SSG Warren Swan - Nope. Not a code at all, but I'm not the kind of person who would get upset at somebody at a ploitical calling me a name.

I just have a hard time understanding how some people think. I must be showing my age but I can't think of any reason to go hands on with a stranger over getting called a name.

CSM (Join to see) - There really isn't, and when you think about what you stand to loose, it should put things into perspective REAL quick. I want to say I wouldn't, but I don't know how many variations of the N word I can be called after 43 years and it have an effect on me. And I'm past the momma comments, so if you're not going to directly harm me or my family and friends, then your words really don't mean shit, and that group of "hardasses" can go kick rocks.

The optics are very bad.
I expect that there was a provocation of sorts, but that Airman reacted very poorly and will likely get some NJP out of the deal.
That it was nationally televised makes it unlikely that there will be no consequences.

He's been in 14 years and is only a SSgt, he was getting the boot next year anyway. I would say that his behaviour is typical of a Trumpkin!

MSgt (Join to see) - Actually he was spit on and called a "Nigger" I would throw my hands at the guy for less. So be gone with your "Trump" comments.

If it is assault and battery without mitigating circumstances it may very well be the final act in the career of that airman MSgt Michael Bischoff.
If there are sufficient mitigating factors then it should not necessarily be a career ender unless this is a repeat offense for him.
