I get folks telling me that I should be running Linux in my domain environment because it is free and virus are all but unheard of on Linux. Were it so easy. Thing is, vendors do not build their software to run with the penguin for the most part. The other issue is then end user, most of them would have a meltdown being taken that far out of their comfort zone. Many of the apps are so customized that wine will not run them.
On the other hand I have installed Linux on virus prone users home computers and have had for the most part a positive response from them. One high school student really liked it and I think is now one of the Linux faithful.
