I support anything done to help veterans BUT keep in mind that homelessness is often a symptom of deeper problems. Many attempts to assist the homeless, civilians and veterans alike, are frustrated by their own intransigence. While I applaud all projects to provide shelter, we must not be shortsighted. We need to set aside companion budgets to provide the help that veterans need to accept shelter and use it as a stepping stone to a more successful life.

I agree completely. I'll use the rowhouses in Baltimore as an example. No one is going to live in them. The area really is at the bottom of the barrel...BUT with the right mentality, the right determination, and the right guidance, vets could move in there, renovate those homes, and live in them mostly without an issue. Of course you'll have a few exceptions, but for the most part it would be a win win for the city. If we give them something to take care of with the chance to own, they'll want to see the others succeed. And what was once a ghetto, could be a new up and coming area

The house in the picture looks like a house out of a horror movie. Perhaps they can renovate the homes and hire veterans to do the job.

The one in the Picture? Kinda spooky looking but a shelter is a shelter and good for them.
