SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL Congress's reluctance to do another round of base closures speaks loudly for a complete sweep of elected officials. Most of whom are so parochial in their interests that the nation comes second to their personal electorate!

SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC)
The Base Closure and Realignment Act of. 1990, as amended, Base Closure Act II (1991, 1993, 1995 and 2005 rounds of closures and realignments) affected many areas of this nation and overseas areas as well. Because of the way Military construction works on a seven year cycle every now and then bases targeted fro BRAC were having construction beginning and ongoing even while the bases was being closed.
The political nature of Congress and the power if the state legislative clout has sometimes interfered with strategic and operational analysis of which facilities should be closed.
Hopefully Congress will be wise in the way it responds to Acting Army Secretary Patrick Murphy and Army Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Milley testimony.
