I was hazed in basic training. We were required to do cutaways - front leaning rest to parade rest over asphalt. There were a few other hazing activities and this was at the tail end of the Vietnam war SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. I was not hazed when I went through West Point as a cadet. Everything I went through had a purpose from learning how to function under duress, through memorization and quick scanning of information with analysis required on the spot, to discipline. The lessons I learned at West Point helped me a great deal throughout my career and in civilian life as well.
