Video games are ok but I Play at a game store and have many Veterans at my table playing table top RPGs and the veterans keep coming back and it helps them a lot with their personal issues

CPT (Join to see) Thanks for sharing this article. Even though Virtual World Solutions d/b/a Sponsor a Vet Life isn't a game, it's providing a place for veterans to get peer-to-peer support, regain some focus, and provide a level of enjoyment in a positive atmosphere for those suffering with PTSD, TBI, and MST, as well as those who are disabled. It has put a smile on my face everytime I go in to provide a webinar for veterans, active duty members, and their families, as well as those businesses and clients we are partnering with, so we can provide this service to those individuals suffering from the affects without charge. We will conitnue to build the Virtual platform to make it bigger and better before we start opening it up to the general public - veterans who are hurting first with the goal of reducing Suicides - Providing a place for them 24/7, so they can come in and find comfort in others, one-on-one with their closest connection or just to walk around, visit, and find that comforting place once again and get off the ledge.

Some veterans do not want to talk to a mental heath worker of any kind. Many like the ones that sit at my table playing Dungeons & Dragons enjoy it because I am a veteran and I understand what they went through. I have had as many as 12 at my table and we agreed to split it up some on Wednesday and the rest on Sunday. they keep coming back and some have told me that their lives have gotten better because of the game.

CPT (Join to see) I imagine they can be helpful for some people but I also feel violent video games have created a whole new monster in seriously disturbed adolescents and adults. Some of the recent mass murderers spent their entire days playing these games. You tie that in with mental illness and drugs and they cannot separate a game form reality. You and I know very well that if we shoot someone to death, they are not coming back. I am not sure these seriously disturbed gamers realize that.

SFC William Farrell That's what happens when you let disturbed individuals become engaged and conditioned to any form of violence, video games included. Most SM and veterans are also conditioned for restraint and safety, so I can support this as an outlet as long as they don't lose their grip on reality.

SSG (Join to see) - I agree also but all too often they do lose that grip of reality. Look at what happened to Chris Kyle who was trying to help another vet. Two lives were lost .
