I think the Republicans have a valid point about questioning witnesses and selective leaks, but this was a horseshit way to make it. This was basically a publicity stunt.
It diminishes their valid arguments to a temper tantrum.

As far as process, when it comes to the Senate the Republicans will control the process so I wouldn't be too worried. But you are right that this is different that the Nixon impeachment hearings where the Republicans were basically given whatever they asked for.

SPC Kevin Ford - Please keep in mind that in the Nixon impeachment, the original investigations where done by a Special Prosecutor behind closed doors. After the investigation was complete, then the info was given to Congress and the House began the impeachment inquiry.

MSG Stan Hutchison - That's true (technically, it was an Independent Counsel), but then Congress changed that law after the Clinton Impeachment.
Then again, we had an investigation by a Special Prosecutor with Trump, too. It just ended up not giving them what they wanted.

Capt Gregory Prickett - Guess he wasn't thorough enough in the course of two years. Good thing Schiff is on the case.
Also, not a grand jury. Analogies do not make it so.

They are allowed to enter this SCIF, so I really don't see the relevence of comparing it to storming a SCIF on a base... However, they're not allowed to bring cell phones and they we not given permission to attend the meeting (which is the point). If I "storm and occupy" a SCIF I have access to on an AF base for a meeting I was not invited to, I will simply be asked to leave (forced if I do not comply). If I bring a cell phone, I could be written up for a security violation. Of course this all depends on what was going on in the SCIF, whether it was intentional, and what could have potentially been compromised. Nothing in the reporting that I've seen said anything about them bring in the cell phones purposefully/knowingly. Sounds to me like the Democrats want to nit pick there way into removing them forcibly and/or make it sound like the GOP members don't care about protecting classified information. Wish they felt the same in 2015-16.
At best, each of the GOP members with an unapproved device should have them confiscated, the situation investigated, and the devices scanned for data leaks. The members should in turn be warned not to do it again. This is pretty much standard for the first instance of these violations.

As I said, they are on the list to be in the SCIF. That doesn't mean they are allowed to go to all the meetings in that SCIF.

And let me be clear as you implied by your statement rogue individuals (how have no access or credentials) storming an AF base SCIF in some hap hazzard manner. These individuals all had the clearance and credentials to be in the facility. I'm making it clear, as it appeared you are trying to make this out to be a bigger security violation than it actually was. In the end, it was all a show of support to follow precedence to these procedings.

FAce it this whole inquiry is rigged, the democrats control the house, the republicans aren't allowed to call any witnesses, they won't release the identity of the so called whistle blower, right now this is mostly a political stunt because the election is coming up, they will try and drag this out as long as possible, just like they did the russian thing until it blew up on them.
