There was a time when the Navy wouldn't let anything get within a few miles of a carrier. What happened? Seems to me, the safe thing to do is to shoot it down and apologize later if need be. Have we forgotten about the USS Cole?

Agreed. No harm in torching a drone. Since when did multi-billion dollar aircraft carriers allow anything to fly over them in international waters? Oh yeah, Never mind.
