Yes, I concur SGT (Join to see) that more veterans will certainly help to make a better congress. I expect it would also help make a more diverse congress since veterans are not monolithic in their political affiliation or alignment on key issues.
I know of several conservative congressmen and women who are veterans as well as several liberal veterans who are members of Congress.
Two "friends of mine are running for congress - one is conservative and the other is a lifelong liberal democrat. Anybody who has been on rallyPoint for any time and gets involved in the political discussions knows that there are conservative and liberal/progressive veterans.
many of those holding office and running for office are there with the help of state and national political machines because they worked their way up the political ladder. Bringing more veterans who have not grown up as political animals will help diversify Congress.

No, it actually would not be more diverse, that overwhelming majority of vets are conservative republicans. It would be more insular if anything.
