Having run a heroin detox/rehab operation in RVN a while back, I claim to have some understanding.
Classifying cannabis as a Schedule 1 "hard" drug is something that needs to be changed. The harmful effects of that classification far outweigh the social benefits.

None of which apply to cannabis, which is why it is an inappropriate classification. The total number of deaths from cannabis overdose in the entirety of human history is lower than the number of persons in my high school class who died from alcohol overdose, e.g.
