Actually, Sgt Kelli Mays, the problem is even more acute when you get up around my neck of the woods. When we have 19-20 hours of darkness, and the daylight hours are overcast, it can be very easy to slip into a prolonged "funk" from which it can be very difficult to recover. The VA here is very quick to authorize "daylight" lamps to Veterans who are having problems with PTSD and/or depression, especially in the winter months. And, yes they do help.

Many people seem to be affected by reduced light which happens in teh northern hemisphere Sgt Kelli Mays. I expect that some who are affected by reduced light and are also suffering from PTSD may be getting a double whammy in the winter.
I hope and pray that they each have good friends they can talk with during this season of their lives to help keep them sane.

I do get a LITTLE depressed when it's too cold to ride my motorcycle, but that's because I haven't purchased the right cold weather riding gear yet!
