1. Just a guess but Maryland AG Doug Gansler has never served a day in the military in his life.
2. This was most likely a Freudian slip and is a reflection of Gansler's true feelings.
3. Good example of "the ends justifies the means" where in anything goes to cut down a political opponent.
4. Sad state of affairs where it is more convenient to attack a political opponent as opposed to stating what one stands for and how a political opponent's ideas are inferior.

People that say things like this are just ignorant. I'd like to see him spend one day (16 to 20 hours is typical with the manpower shortage) doing anyone's job on a flight line anywhere… Those planes don't fix, load, fuel, or fly themselves, and everything you do has the potential to kill someone. Not to mention cold, rain, snow, heat, and hazards. Every person in the military has a job to do, and it is very real! I'm 46 years old, and I've worked in and out of the military and as a military contractor and my job in the military was the most "real" job I've ever had. How "real" was it? Well, lets start with you can't call in sick. You can't go out for a 2 hour lunch and have a martini. You must be on time, properly dressed, clean and shaven. You must pay very close attention to every detail. If you mess up, people may die. Doesn't get any more "real" then that, and oh yeah, depending on where you are, several people may try to kill you…
