What brand and model of boot do you prefer to wear when jumping out of an airplane? I'm in the market for some new boots for the OCP uniform, and will soon be attending Airborne School. I currently wear Belleville Mini-mils, but am concerned that they might not provide adequate structure and support during a PLF. Now I'm looking for suggestions from those on jump-status, so I can try on a few pairs and get them broken in before I head to Georgia. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Full leather, more support for your ankles.
286 of us graduated from jump school, no one was recycled or disqualified by a broken ankle.
We started out with over 600 at the beginning of jump school.

Ive jumped in many different boots including the Schwartzchoff desert boots which have no support whatsoever in the ankles and never had a problem. If you jack up the PLF nothing’s going to save you. Where what’s comfortable. Best boots I’ve ever had are the Garmonts though. Pay attention to the training and execute as you were taught and you’ll be fine.

Any boots in compliance with AR 670-1 will be just fine for Airborne ops.
