Enlisted Europe Unassigned on a "Buddy Plan" in September, 1960. Basic Training at Ft. Ord, California, Advance 8-Weeks Training at Ft. Sill Oklahoma, where my buddy and I volunteered Airborne just to increase our monthly pay from $76 per month to $131.00 per month. Did not know it at the time as there was a jump school in Germany, but we thought we would still get to Europe. But, no.
