SFC (Anonymous): I live in Tucson, which is 90 miles northwest of Sierra Vista. However, I often go down to Sierra Vista and Bisbee for various court cases I have and my husband and I like to go down a few times a year to the various areas. Sierra Vista is a smaller town (131k population) that is located near the Huachuca Mountains. It is at a higher elevation than Tucson, therefore it tends to be cooler there. The area has outstanding hiking and camping opportunities, various cultural museums/towns (Tombstone and Bisbee), is a birder's paradise (hummingbird capital), and interesting day trips around the area. As far as activities for the family, there are different festivals in Sierra Vista, Bisbee, Tombstone. Also there are several amateur observatories and one UA observatory (OMG, the night skies are so clear and not a lot of light pollution, so check out the Milky Way, etc.!!). However, you really need to define night life because if you are looking for NYC style, it won't be found here. Sierra Vista is not really known for its night life. As for employment, it depends on what type of work your wife is looking for. There are jobs there. You may want to look on job sites such as ZipRecruiter, etc.

My wife is a nail tech. Our idea of night life is dining and drinks with the occasional event.

SFC (Join to see) - There are a few places in Sierra Vista and Bisbee that have nice dining and drinks. And some really awesome Sonoran Mexican food. But Sierra Vista will never really be known for its nightlife.
There are a few places in Sierra Vista where your wife could work as a nail tech or she could build up her own business there. Best of luck in deciding whether to come down here.

Make sure you go and see Tombstone. Go up to White Sands NM. Take the wife to the Reservation and do some gambling. And Mexico is right there just in case your feeling really adveneurous.
