So my husband and I are dual military and we got married after my orders were placed meaning we didn’t have a residence together, so I went to Korea and he went to Fort Hood but now I’m 3 months out from my DEROS and I need to start getting a house together so I can ship my stuff from California. I went to S1 and filled out a complete packet and they said I can’t get BAH and he has to do it but when I went on leave they said they needed my orders, but I submitted my levy packet a month ago and still have no orders. I can’t afford for him to move out of the barracks right now because we don’t have the money that’s why we need the BAH. And I’ve been trying to look at the regulations but I can’t find the right one. Can any one please help?

Neither of you can receive BAH as long as that person resides in the barracks. You can't receive BAH OCONUS because that's covered under OHA.
There's no emergency here. You don't need to move your stuff ahead of time and you don't need to maintain two residences. Once you PCS, you and your husband can get a place on post, there's no extra security deposit to save up for. Army housing is designed for people who have zero extra money to walk straight into a home within a day or two. After some time, the two of you can buy a house if you choose and move out.

I would love for it to be like that but unfortunately there is a 2-3 month wait for housing and we can’t get in the list without my orders and I’ve been waiting a month for those

CPL (Join to see) you're OCONUS so you should receive your orders soon. You should have received your assignment instructions 3 months ago, but these things happen. You will receive your orders soon, they will list your report date as around 60 days after your DEROS, that will give you several months to get on a waiting list

CPL (Join to see) it’s is a good question and unfortunately I can only provide end results, not how the S1s and G1s made it happen.
What you need is a SM currently in the S1/G1 field as a subject matter expert who can “see” the way to get it done and not ways to say no.

Fort Hood is crap. I attended the 7th army NCO academy in 1968 and was number two. one day and they sent me back to bliss.
