What was the reasons that you had for leaving service? Was it your decision or your families in a whole? I just ask because I have a really great friend of mine that was considering getting out. I advised him not to, not only because of the state of the nation and the lack of respect for our vets, and the lack of jobs as well. Please help out and give as much help as possible. I'm just one guy and however convincing I can be...This will only help if I get a variety of opinions. Thanks much guys!!

Sounds like you gave your friend a couple good reasons to stay however, if you have to convince him to stay it means he isn't fully invested personally.....if he is not fully committed it be best to chose another career

I have to agree with you CSM Uhlig. It is our responsibility as leaders to let them know what is available and what it is like on the outside however I do not think we should try to convice them to stay in if their heart is not in it.

My reason is simple and that is that I have hit term limitations come next year. If I had been promoted I would have stayed in but alas there are other things out there. I should have completed my BS by then and will find work in the civilian sector.
