They can not be trusted to do the right thing and choose their OER over discipline. I've also seen their politics work their way into their orders, ie: giving instruction in accordance with liberal views but contrary to army Regulations. Every unit I've seen taken over by one of these high minded folks has just gone to crap. Discipline eroded faster than a salt block under Niagara falls. In fact, most of my distaste for officers has come from liberal officers.Response by SSG Kevin McCulley made May 24 at 2015 5:06 PM2015-05-24T17:06:45-04:002015-05-24T17:06:45-04:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member693248<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>No.Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made May 24 at 2015 5:25 PM2015-05-24T17:25:29-04:002015-05-24T17:25:29-04:00SPC Charles Brown693287<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div><br />The only way I see this as a problem is if you are weak minded enough to let you personal dislike for "liberals" over run your common sense. Likely the question associated with it is this: "Where do you , as a solider, draw the line between the portion of your oath that obligates you to support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the portion that charges you to obey the order of the president and those appointed over you?" What orders or actions do you believe you are charged by your oath to clarify, explain, and refuse? Note that this is an exceedingly sensitive line to draw, as when you do either your boss is a traitor, or you are.Response by Capt Richard I P. made May 24 at 2015 5:44 PM2015-05-24T17:44:17-04:002015-05-24T17:44:17-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member693299<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>No. Let us not forget that not everyone in our ranks share the same political belief as you. If it is, and you doubt your ability to "discharge your duties" then you should probably request an early separation or release from active duty/uqr because you have no business serving in the first place. The Army, as an institution, is larger than any one individual. So long as the Commander complies with Army policy and regulations, there will be no issue.
