For whatever reason, I find this vaguely reassuring. Regardless of their politics, I find the fact that they were willing to serve before "public service" a hopeful sign. Maybe "serve" means to them what it means to me.

Then again, I can think of a lot of jerks that served before being elected who remained jerks.... I'm still more fond of veteran jerks.

I think it is a start. The more military friendly representatives we have the better. I think the younger vets will offer insight that is not presently there.

I don't think it is an age thing, I believe we need more people who actually cares about making America great again. We need the folks in politics to realize that they are working for us, not working to push their own agenda. We must remember that holding office is a public service, I think a vast majority of them have forgotten that.

Maybe we can still get the new congress to do something useful, like Arm the "Armed Forces.

I've halfway thought about giving it a shot since I'm always complaining about how awful a job they're doing. And every time I think about it, I think about all the unsavoury things I've done as an indiscreet youth, haha. That and the fact that I absolutely abhor political games -- just speak plainly and with frankness. Seems that's just not done.
