I used to wear Nikes around the office because they were the most comfortable, but many boot makers are now making boots they feel like tennis shoes. The Nikes also weren't super durable. I wore Oakleys in AFG, but I was mostly a fobbit. They held up pretty good and were comfy. Now I cycle between Rocky's. So far they have been great, but I'm not sure how well they would handle in the "elements". I love both for different reasons. Danner's are tough and have great stability. The Oakley's breathe better and are lighter. For me, it would probably be the Danner boots. I'll go through normal logistics/supply channels, as the military should be issuing all deployment gear, including footwear. If you are a unit leader and you are wearing something better than service issue, you cannot relate to your subordinates who would not have a choice other than service issue.
