Finally filling a MOS that has been vacant for over two years. Kid comes and in processes and already has all these documented injuries from basic and IET. But medical records don't show any breaks or tears, just the Soldier complaining about pain until they gave him profiles. Got to the unit with a dead man's profile and was discharged less than 6 months later....smh. 1SG Private RallyPoint Member Thu, 02 Jun 2016 16:20:05 -0400 2016-06-02T16:20:05-04:00 Response by PO3 Steven Sherrill made Jun 2 at 2016 4:31 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/you-ever-have-one-of-those-days-when-you-get-the-new-guys?n=1588437&urlhash=1588437

CSM Private RallyPoint Member when it is the new guy you can forgive it as just that. Twice. Because the other medic who "tried" to fix it didn't do a very good job. So my squad leader took me into the cage, and then proceeded to shave my head with a prep razor. Only cut me about 50 times or so. Then, to make sure I didn't get an infection, he dumped a whole bottle of rubbing alcohol on my bleeding head. Never had a bad haircut again. For Airmen who's job it is to carry weapons daily on post, and had qualified IN tech school, you'd think they'd never seen a weapon. A new Security Forces class was like starting with A B C EVERY time. Some of the other company commanders did this by platoon. I did it in groups of 5. This also gave them a chance on practicing saluting and reporting to an officer indoors. I usually asked them where they were from and what MOS the Army had given them and if they had any questions. I asked one trainee what MOS he had received and he had a look on his face like he was going to cry. I asked him what was wrong. his reply, "I wanted to be a cook. My scores weren't high enough so the Army is going to make a helicopter mechanic out of me." You talk about trouble keeping a straight face.
