I am stationed in the middle east right now and is amazing to see all the money these countries spend building mall after mall and driving luxury cars everywhere, they can sure afford to take all those refugees without breaking a sweat instead of spending my tax money on them

Honestly, I don't care what my taxes are. I don't.

However, I do care that I feel that I am getting "full value" for my taxes.

If you are taking 15% (1/7) of my week's worth, you better be providing a value equal to that. If you want to bump it up to 20% (1/5), you better provide a value equal to that.

That's where I don't think these politicians "get it."

Why should I or anyone, give up the productivity of a whole day of the week, if we aren't getting that level back?

Now, as an example, if we were actually getting full on Single Payer Health Care (not national health service), I'd be happy to jump from 15% to 20% Federal income tax. If we were getting Inclusive Education Benefits through Post Secondary school, bump it up 2%. Another 2% for grad school. Not a payback scheme, inclusive.

As soon as we actually FIX major issues in the USA (poverty, homeless, welfare system, illegal immigration...the list goes on) and they are ACTUALLY FIXED....then I may consider it. But not a moment before.

No, wouldn't even entertain the thought. If we were developing a way to take care of our own, that might be a different story. I understand that they are in a bad place. I understand that they are in need, and may be less fortunate, but who is to say the person we would be giving aid to wasn't saying "death to America" right before they evacuated...

HELL NO, make it a volunteer program. UNICEF or something like it. BUT, don't MAKE me pay for it.
