There are multiple opportunities to obtain a college degree while on active duty or after serving many times with little or no cost to the servicemember or veteran. Most institutions give maximum credit for your training, education and service. One problem that I have noted in the civilian community is the perception that degrees are now viewed in varying degrees of legitimacy. If your degree is 100% on line, it is not viewed as highly as a resident students degree. Agree or disagree, this is reality. Simply giving a year of college in recognition of a period of service will have a strong likelyhood of being viewed as the proverbial "Diploma Mill". Okay, Haters, hate on me!Response by MSgt Stephen Council made Oct 15 at 2015 4:02 PM2015-10-15T16:02:21-04:002015-10-15T16:02:21-04:00Cpl Dr Ronnie Manns1089748<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I asked this question some time ago and got several thumbs up but even more thumbs down. They set up case work lines and abuse the program, so it is time to accept private charity of $4 billion, and remove the US government from this process.
