Sgt Packy Flickinger 226034

What would you do if you advanced to the front and you jumped in a fox hole under fire. The guy next to you turns to you and said he forgot his ammo and would like some of yours?

You need your ammo to defend yourself but he needs ammo to cover your ass. This guy in your fox hole is obviously not trustworthy. Do you put your trust in a guy who is obviously not able to keep up with one of the most important things in combat?

Do you share or not? Ive asked this before and the results seemed to be mixed. Would you share your ammo in combat with somebody who needs it but is not trustworthy? 2014-09-03T03:41:03-04:00 Sgt Packy Flickinger 226034

What would you do if you advanced to the front and you jumped in a fox hole under fire. Otherwise he needs to run his ass to the rear or the nearest ammo point and request his combat load + 20 rounds to replace those I had so generously loaned him to protect himself and me until more became available. Marines do not have foxholes. Where did you go to boot? Marines have fighting holes or positions. Foxholes are for hiding and Marines don't hide. As to your question, you share. He gets a magazine or two along with that dead-eye look your DI was famous for...he'll know he screwed up. Besides, he wouldn't say that...he would just say he is out of ammo and you would (should) share. He can't cover your back without ammo. Nothing else matters at the time. Honestly, I feel like the marine that left his ammo is more likely to have left his weapon as well. Especially in a location in which enemy fire is likely. Not to mention, if he is carless enough to leave ammo in a hostile location, he is going to endanger the rest of the company due to his carelessness. Send him off the line at the first available lull in fire.
