I'm thinking that the drivers THAT HAVE THEIR HEADS in their APPS are the ones who are upset at this.

Quite clever and typical Texas humor.

Back before I retired I saw a Univ of Kansas study that concluded that driving while using a cell phone (including hands free use) impaired a driver as much as driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. I suspect that it is even worse when texting or using apps on the phone.

Offended by this sign? I suspect, that indicates you are among those who use the devices while driving. I hope you aren't one of the ones who die or kill others while doing so.

Capt (Join to see) not me...but I suspect the folks who think this sign is in bad taste are the ones who are guilty of doing this.

Sgt Kelli Mays - I agree. Driving is something we often do by habit/ We should make it the only thing we do when we are behind the wheel. At 60 mph one travels 88 feet per second.

There really is not room for inattention.

Awesome! The punishment should be more severe, I proponent of pain retains. Ticket is not painful enough.
I peddle in fear on my bike to/from parking lot and class because of the a-holes being more concerned with their phone.

Actually I get the pun and better than saying get your phone out of your ass(Ear)! to many people driving and face booking and txting and other stuff. If they took Offense then it was probably them that do It! I like it! Would have thought it was funny as hell!

I doubt most would be upset if they saw it, since they actually wouldn't notice it with their heads looking downward at their current facebook timeline.

I see too many distracted drivers and even pedestrians texting, talking on cell phones, driving through red lights, or stop signs, walking out n front of cars buses and trucks. Those who survive should have to pay for any damages caused by their inattention, and take a course on paying attention while walking near or on roadways, or driving. The second offence should require enrollment in a secure facility and completion of a course on the dangers of inattention while driving or walking.

I think it is a great sign that might remind drivers to pay attention to the road.
