Nothing the TSA does surprises me. I've never seen or used these locks so this particular item is not a major concern for me. If someone can, They will. I used to be a pretty good Lock Pick. It's a handy skill that I learned before I joined and the Navy just perfected it. Like any other security system it just slows down a Perp if they really want to they will just a matter of the effort required and the return on the investment of time. The shackle on this could be cut easily and quickly with many tools. Not that the dinky luggage locks were really ever all that secure, or soft sided luggage. I worked as a passenger service agent, luggage is not where you put things you want kept safe. Things get broke, bags rip, things fall out when you don't close your bags. Locks rip off when they get caught in conveyor belts, in the belly of the aircraft bins, etc. Travel is rough, oh the horrors your bags could tell! Being mistakenly led to believe your bags are locked and only TSA can get in them and now anyone can print a master key...well that takes out the lock pickers and bolt cutters necessity I guess. Guess we'll just have to put padlocks on them. Response by Cpl James Waycasie made Sep 12 at 2015 5:57 AM 2015-09-12T05:57:41-04:00 2015-09-12T05:57:41-04:00 2015-09-11T19:57:13-04:00
