I have had some experience dealing with IT functions while in. Studying for my Security + currently and am looking at the Idea of a 70D Commission. I&#39;ve seen some mixed responses and wanted some clarifications on being able to do this Active Duty? <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>From what I’ve gathered from other posts, 70D is not a MOS you can direct commission into. You start at 70B and as you promote become eligible to hold the designator for 70D when your unit sends you to training for it . I am also trying to do the same and this is what an AMEDD recruiter advised me of back in May

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You can direct commission as a 70D if you have a master&#39;s in IT. Otherwise, you will start as a 70B and must attend the 70D course from which you will not be officially granted the MOS until you reach CPT.

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Sorry for the late reply as I do not remember if I saw I was tagged in this thread.<br /><br />BLUF: The AMEDD no longer direct commission as a 70D on the active duty side even for active component Signal Corps officers.<br /><br />You would have to speak with an AMEDD recruiter and see if there is a mission. This is the same for TPU Compo 2/3. This process changed in the last 2 years and Army Recruiting command owns it.
