No. And I like Dr Carson. But I can't wrap my head around Trump serving as the leader of the free world, a position that requires patience, resolve, and maturity. I just can't see it. Maybe I'll be proved wrong.

I'll take Dr Carson though. Maybe a Carson/Rubio or Carson/Fiorina ticket.

Trump I'm not so sure of. I am far from convinced that he would be a good president, he is too much of a "this is what I want to happen right now" type of person. Dr Carson I believe would surround himself with the people who could give him good advice and follow up on it. I think he would be one of the greatest presidents ever. There is little doubt he could restore teamwork between the idiot parties in Washington....

I'm going to go out on a limb and say yes. You have the Ying and Yang here with these two. You have the quiet intellectual and the bombastic "you or me" kind of guy. In office this would be valuable in dealing with folks. Trump's in your face style would be counter to Putin's version of the same, and I don't think Putin's prepared to deal with the American version of himself. Carson's strong points would be his background and his quiet but strong demeanor. You never really know what he's thinking, and he'd be a damn good poker player in international relations. You have the good cop and the bad one, and at any time you could get either one, or both. Being the VP's job is to support the POTUS, I have no doubt that Trump in his self serving ways would do just that, and have Carson's back. One serious drawback to having them together is both have hawkish ways and that might not serve in America's best interests.

Trump is too much of a loose cannon bent on getting his own way regardless of the laws or the Constitution. We see in the present administration where that leads.

I hope we get a chance to vote for Dr. Carson though. We really need an adult in the White House for a change. My ideal ticket would be Carson/Fiorina - two adults for the price of one!

Absolutely, but even better would be Trump/Cruz. With Carson in a key position. Sec of State, or Interior, or Cheif of Staff. Many goodplace. Col West (ret) as Sec Def. Fiorina maybe as Sec of State??? So many good combinations. But I think Trump, with all his faults, and lack of service, is what the country needs right now. NO POLITICAL connections. Can't be bought. Will get things done, JUST BECAUSE, they need to be done. Doesn't mean he won't bring some problems. But I think the the problems he fixes will outweigh the problems he creates.

One thing is clear, Trump and Carson are the leaders in the polls; can they work together is another matter. I think The Donald is in the lead because people are sick and tired of career politicians and he is something different. Dr. Ben Carson is also not a career politician and is why he too is a leader in the polls. I prefer Dr. Carson over Trump but I will take any of the GOP candidates over the Dem’s.
We are 20 Trillion in debt and most of it to the communist Chinese government.
Bush II got us 4 Trillion in debt and the remaining 16 Trillion is from the current administration; anyone who says that it is bushes fault for that is an idiot. If the government keeps spending at this break neck pace there will come a time that most of the revenue coming in will be going to pay its loans. Raising taxes on the wealthy and businesses cannot make up for current spending; nor will taxing the working class to death. It will drive business to shutter their doors or outsource production overseas more than ever. We cannot get the revenue back through trade tariffs because of trade agreements with foreign governments.

Fun Fact 20 Trillion dollars end to end would reach from the planet Earth to Uranus; think about it: Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Uranus. You cannot even see Uranus with the naked eye at night; it is a huge planet and 2.8 Billion miles away.

I think so. I like Trump's message and he has done a lot to force the other candidates to deal with those issues they would prefer to gloss over. Clearly, he needs to polish his image and delivery a bit. I'm just not sure Trump is serious about running. He's leading all other candidates by double digits because he is responding to what concerns most Americans who are tired of the current administration. I’ve listened to Dr Carson and he also seems like a common sense kind of guy – he will get my vote if he’s the candidate. Frankly, I will vote for whoever the Republican candidate is. I don't think Trump would stay in the race as someone's vice presidential candidate. As for the democrats, Clinton is grossly incompetent and habitually surrounds herself with awful advisors. Sanders isn’t as scary as Clinton but he’s still scary.

The answers I'm reading actually sort of scare me. Most people are saying electing Donald Trump would be a terrible mistake and I completely agree. But Carson? The man is a fool. Fiorina? Fool. Rubio? Not quite a fool but not a man that should be president.

I really can't stand behind a single republican candidate. They appear to be playing a game of conservative "Watch this, hold my beer" and spouting off ideals that are 100% racist, hateful and right-wing lunacy; and have no hope for redemption. Their hate for our current (And great) president has given them one goal: dismantle all the progress that has been made since Obama took office. This is to include insuring Americans that could not provide for themselves and regressing to a point where we still deny people human rights based on sexual orientation. (Repub. candidates were supporting Kim Davis, the mystic on the mountain who was refusing to grant people marriage licenses because they were homosexual.)

But I suppose this sort of opinion isn't really welcome here. We young are few here and our ideals of acceptance and progress frowned upon. But alas, until a better candidate comes along, Bernie Sanders 2016.

The silent majority will ultimately make the difference in who is elected. If Trump is the republican candidate, it might be a gamble. Regardless, I just can't believe anyone would vote for Clinton after everything she's done, but that’s moot. The Democratic Party has manipulated many of its supporters for the last 60 or so years. Free everything, you don’t have to lift a finger. The poor get free money, free healthcare, food stamps, cellphones, housing and so on. The Democratic Party turned what was meant to be temporary programs into a perpetual way of life. Generations of people have lived this way with no incentives to change. Now they also have the support of all the illegal aliens they have imported who will also get free everything. They will do anything to win, as demonstrated by their actions (ACORN, busing in voters, registering dead people, etc.). Personally, I don’t think this country could survive a Clinton presidency. And there's no talking to liberals or so called "progressives" about any of this – when you present them with facts, they usually end up screaming, crying and name calling. At least, that’s been my experience. I have friends who fall into this category so we simply don’t ever discuss politics.

Depends if "Trump" will be... of by and for the American people or...of by and for Donald Trump. As for Dr. Carson, he has achieved "greatness" in his own right and has great "humility" and also he is not afraid to profess his faith in God... Two traits that are definitely in my plus category as I decide whom my vote will go to in 2016.

I find it odd that the far left likes to shout out that we are "living in a racists society, yet the overwhelming supporters of Dr. Carson are "white".

I pray to see the day when all men and women will be judged by the content of their character not by the color of their skin.

Being a Viet Nam Veteran, I think back when I had to defend my outpost (Camp Holloway, Central Highlands), no one cared what the skin color of the soldier on their right or left flank was, only that he held his position and stayed in the fight.

I recall many a time when I helped wounded soldiers onto the choppers that awaited them and seeing the blood seeping through their bandages, white or black, the color was RED.

Maybe, I like Carson but he comes off as too quiet for my taste. But Trump is too loud at times so they may be a great combination. Carson is smart enough for the job and would be a great representative for the US.

Yes. Ben is level headed and he is more apt to learning and help spread information. Where the CinC might be hot headed at times, it would take a lot to wound up Dr. Carson.

though, I would have preferred to have seen Caron as the nominee.

I can't not speak for Dr Carson; I can only make a judgement call, knowing the character and "core" values that he holds... My guess, if asked..he would "politely" refuse Mr. Trump's offer.

I would have loved a Carson-Trump ticket.
I felt Carson had the brains, common sense, responsibility, morality, logic, actual hands-on life and death decision experience, and critical quick thinking that would have made him a good President.
And Trump had everything necessary to be Carson's 200 pound thumb-breaker, and would probably have enjoyed the position and cleaning house.
I'm not real impressed with the rest of the line-up.....
And wouldn't vote for pandering Sanders, and wouldn't pi$$ on Billary-beast if they were on FIRE!

I think they would make a good pairing. Dr. Carson is a thoughtful man and the balance between him and Trump would work out for the benefit of the American people.
