In 91F there is a bottleneck at E6, assuming you are even able to make it to SSG. If you do your choice of posts is pretty limited outside of FORSCOM divisions. Many of the smaller posts may only have one 91F3 a lot on the entire post.
Not a good job if you want to make the Army a career. I love the weapons I work on. I love when things break but that rarely happens. You will just do quarterlies, annuals and go to the range. If your motivated you can use the time in between to work on getting those points for promotion. I am a current 91F and I love my job. Work isn't that hard and hardly anyone bothers you in the Maint section CPL Private RallyPoint Member Sat, 25 Jul 2020 10:13:30 -0400 2020-07-25T10:13:30-04:00 Response by SPC Jason McFarland made Sep 18 at 2020 1:37 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/would-anyone-recommend-being-a-91f-in-the-army-small-arms-artillery-repairer?n=6321212&urlhash=6321212

Easy job but no promotions past E4 when I was in SPC Jason McFarland Fri, 18 Sep 2020 01:37:02 -0400 2020-09-18T01:37:02-04:00 Response by PFC Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 29 at 2020 2:04 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/would-anyone-recommend-being-a-91f-in-the-army-small-arms-artillery-repairer?n=6615029&urlhash=6615029

I'm in an air defense unit, and this MOS here sucks, they basically have me with the mechanics. The SPC that just turned SGT didn't even do his job for 2 years, he was a desk jockey.
I'm new to the army and this is my first duty station and so far, I'm not enjoying it. Only time I got to do my job was for annuals and it's boring. Definitely reclassing. I spent my whole 20 plus years in the Armament. Yes rank was hard to reach, but on the other hand I to pull trigger or lanyard on everything in the Army that goes BANG.
After I retired I still work in the Small Repair world. I work as a DOD contractor . I do everything like before but I am just a civilian. I get paid very well and I love it. I have no regrets of picking Small Arms SGT Jeff Sandoval Fri, 29 Jan 2021 21:05:00 -0500 2021-01-29T21:05:00-05:00 2020-07-02T09:37:02-04:00
