The post is smaller than most and the quality of life for the family is excellent. The FMWR always has something going on for the family, and if you like the outdoors there are few places I can think of with better fishing, hinting, mountain bike riding etc. Housing off post is very reasonable, and I believe wait lists for on post are fairly short. It is a bit of a drive to the mall in Springfield, but Rolla is just up the road and it is a wonderful little city. Good luck. Good luck. You are literally Lost in the Woods out there. I haven't been there in years. Seemed like a nice post. Watch out for the AIT MPs haha SFC James Young Sat, 06 Feb 2016 16:12:36 -0500 2016-02-06T16:12:36-05:00 Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 26 at 2016 2:55 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/would-any-e6-11b-like-to-switch-drill-sergeant-orders-to-ft-leonard-wood?n=1333027&urlhash=1333027 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I asked our Branch Manager to switch me from Sill to Benning. It was that easy. The very next day my assignment changed to Benning. Be a Drill Sergeant was a lot of hard work and time but the reward is once you leave and you meet your privates again as Soldiers and they tell you how much you change their lives.
