And before FRV was initiated, the Army depreciated everything you owned. I had a PCS move back in mid-90s where we had bought a brand new living room and dining room set one month before our PCS to Korea, it was command sponsored, so my family went with me for 2 years, we returned to new duty stationed, furniture was covered with bird feces, and transportation depreciated it because of date of purchase, and I fought it for year and won because the age of item is supposed to stop when the government takes possession, so instead of depreciating it by 2 years, it was only 34 days old when they took possession. I think it is cases like mine that led to the new way of FRV for military moves.Response by SFC James Baber made Nov 23 at 2013 11:29 PM2013-11-23T23:29:26-05:002013-11-23T23:29:26-05:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member10646<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Packing......I hate packing for small trips and leave when I go outta state to head home. It gets old after a while. The worst thing I hate is having to live with ding and scratched up furniture. No moving company will replace it unless you fight tooth and nail save every receipt. I've gone through it more than once now and it's taken more than 4 months to get all the paperwork completed by PCM's and get a final determination by AFPC. This usually only leaves a few months at best to prepare for alternatives. The waiting and not knowing what's going to happen causes a lot of stress on the family.Response by MSgt Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 26 at 2014 8:49 AM2014-03-26T08:49:31-04:002014-03-26T08:49:31-04:00Sgt Seth Busse134815<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I always Duty Moved and my worst headache was getting payed and getting into shouting matches with Disbo Sergeants that didn't know their job when I was trying to push my paperwork.Response by Sgt Seth Busse made May 25 at 2014 4:22 PM2014-05-25T16:22:10-04:002014-05-25T16:22:10-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member2571741<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The hoops you have to jump through for out/in process at both installations.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made May 15 at 2017 9:04 PM2017-05-15T21:04:50-04:002017-05-15T21:04:50-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member2580547<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Goverment travel card!Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made May 18 at 2017 5:49 PM2017-05-18T17:49:59-04:002017-05-18T17:49:59-04:00SrA Monty Jones2585420<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Waiting to move to Wiesbaden Germany from Kessler AFB in Biloxi Mississippi.
