These men, together with several other key players of their time, structured the American democracy and left a legacy that has shaped the world. <br /><br />Americans can no longer turn a blind eye to the ongoing within the boarder of this great nation. This is not what the Founding Fathers of this great nation fought and blead for. Patriotism was a word to be proud of, to be shouted at the top of one’s lungs in the birth of this great nation. The Founding Fathers were a revolutionary group, diverse in their professions and yet unified in their goal: American liberty<br /><br />America was born to be a land of freedom and opportunity, with minimal government intrusion, a limited central government that would simply protect the people and maintain a safe environment for them to pursue happiness in any way they saw fit.<br />Yet, today’s government is one of a strong centralized government with weaker state governments, such that the focus is no longer focused on rights, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, but upon taxation, <br />I am reminded of a quote that has always been on my mind and in my heart. A young man from Massachusetts, a war hero and a leader of this great nation. He once addressed this nations and spoke these words “My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country”. John F. Kennedy <br />When Thomas Jefferson penned those timeless, eloquent words of freedom in the Declaration of Independence it sent political shock waves around the world that continue to reverberate in the minds of revolutionaries everywhere. <br />"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to affect their Safety and Happiness." <br />If more Americans pondered these simple words they would have a more clear understanding of why those brave men who came before us risked their blood, treasure and sacred honor to create the greatest nation on Earth. <br /><br />A challenge was issued that kings did not automatically have supreme authority. I say that a challenge needs to be issued to a Governments that is no longer a representative of the words “Of the people, by the people and for the people” is a government that is bordering on supreme authority and is no longer is a functioning government. It is more like that of one our Founding Father’s fought a Revolutionary War against. <br /><br />It is not Industry, Money or the Land itself that makes America strong and the Greatest Nation on earth, it is its people. The common man who works hard, pays taxes and lives a merger simple life. One who believes that the government they elect represents what’s best for them and this nation, not what is best for the politician and the politician’s legacy. Being an elected official was not meant to be a career it was meant to be a chance for the American people to have its voice heard in the hallowed halls of Congress. A chance for the common man to serve his country and insure the rights and principles of the people are retained as the Founding Fathers designed this nation.<br /><br />The Founding Fathers would roll over in their graves if they saw how destructive the government of this nation, the nation they risked everything to create had become and to the liberty of its people. The politicians have completely screwed this concept so that the only people who can enjoy these words are themselves! They have made it so that they receive everything that was meant for everyone.
