Some forget that they raised their right hand to serve, and uttered the statement &quot;I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of <br />the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of <br />Military Justice&quot;. With the new changes to AR 607-1, what are your thoughts? 2014-03-13T08:27:18-04:00 SSG Private RallyPoint Member 75068 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have Soldiers who are already complaining and the update has not even gone in effect yet. No more interpretation (everyone's definition of what is "faddish, neat, unprofessional, etc.. is different). I can understand all the changes (except one) and will comply with such actions when they take hold. However, one item on the list that just irks me to no end is the fact that females might be allowed to wear ponytails while conducting physical training. I can see this get way out of hand from the start. I hope that the new standard will be specific as to what is the intent. I have very long hair and could not imagine running 10 miles with my ponytail bouncing back and forth. There is a time and place for a ponytail and I feel it is not warranted in our professional Army in uniform.   Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 13 at 2014 9:31 AM 2014-03-13T09:31:35-04:00 2014-03-13T09:31:35-04:00 CW2 Private RallyPoint Member 75659 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>a lot of the complaining is based on individual preferences, but like you said, we are part of a professional military organization. Also, until we have in black and white, on paper, the approved changes, it is all rumors and conjectures. Just comply, enforce the new standards, and move on! Response by SFC Michael Jackson, MBA made Dec 5 at 2014 4:23 PM 2014-12-05T16:23:15-05:00 2014-12-05T16:23:15-05:00 2014-03-13T08:27:18-04:00
