I'm a medic and we are a large population so some of us bled over to other MOS's within our CMF. But 99% of us all went to the AIT of our specific MOS. For example, I am a 91X (maintenance supervisor) and in our AIT BN we had all different kinds of 91 series maintainers. I think it all depends on how short your MOS is on qualified AITPSG candidates. You will fill in a spot that is available/needed within the BN/BDE. It may not be the actual MOS that you currently are, however, I am sure that they will try to put you with your peers. Even though it may not be your 100% MOS, it will be within your series. Have yet to see something like a Mechanic going to Field Artillery, or Field Artillery going to Signal. You will be within your Series. 1SG Private RallyPoint Member Sun, 12 Apr 2015 06:35:05 -0400 2015-04-12T06:35:05-04:00 Response by 1SG Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 13 at 2015 1:35 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/with-regards-to-ait-plt-sgt-are-we-placed-as-plt-sgts-in-the-same-location-we-completed-ait-or-could-be-be-placed-in-any-tradoc-location?n=588385&urlhash=588385 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>When I was an AIT PSG, I was stationed not in my initial AIT location, but another TRADOC post. Being an Aviation Mechanic on OH-58D (R) I attended AIT at Ft. Eustis, VA. As an AIT PSG, I was assigned to FT Rucker, AL the home of Army Aviation. 1SG Private RallyPoint Member Mon, 13 Apr 2015 01:35:03 -0400 2015-04-13T01:35:03-04:00 Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 25 at 2015 11:57 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/with-regards-to-ait-plt-sgt-are-we-placed-as-plt-sgts-in-the-same-location-we-completed-ait-or-could-be-be-placed-in-any-tradoc-location?n=619662&urlhash=619662 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It's the location of your MOS specialty. The Army tries to align you with Soldiers that will be in your field. I was a little different since I worked as a 25B for 4 years prior. Even though I'm a 25U the CSM decided I would serve best there.<br /> The Soldiers could get additional tutoring and more insight on what they should be prepared for leaving AIT. At Ft. Sill, we have a 91B and a 15 (not sure) here; they say it's because of gender integration.
