With going back to the same MOS I left, do I have to retake the ASVAB?

I have a 6 year break in service, there for I am going back to basic. I don't have to go to AIT as I am already MOSQ 11b. Will I still have to retake the ASVAB at MEPS?

I tried to take it as much as possible and raised my score from 114 in 1974 to 126 in 2004..With only 9th grade math and English..Used the ARCO study guide... Got into OCS in 1984.. got kicked out.. 1985..Medical discharge in 2004.. 4 years short.. of 20... Never picked up E-5..

If you leave on the first ship date, your ASVAB is good for 5 years.
Since you’ve been out for 6, you will have to retake it.

What did your recruiter tell you? By previous posts I am given to understand you are having to go back through basic which seems to indicate you have already been to MEPS and done the physical, been cleared, assigned your old MOS. If they did not make you take it then chances are you will not have to re-take the ASVAB.
