Not only because they look more professional, but it instills a sense of discipline and meticulous attention to detail. You can usually tell the dirtbag soldiers by the way their boots look. I was active duty when we wore the black boots. Mine were always cleaned and brush shined, but spit shining takes too damn long, and I always got crap from my NCO support channel for not spit shining. I could do my job like no one&#39;s business, and was good on PT, but I was still a dirtbag because my boots weren&#39;t spitshined. Not just, no, but hell no! The time I&#39;d spend spitshining is time taken away from practicing my craft as a warrant officer.
