With all the problems in the USA, how would you vote if your state had secession on the ballot? Would you support it, why or why not?

We tried that once, resulting in about 600,000 American deaths. There is no ballot provisions for doing this. As to the states functioning without DC, that is backwards, DC gets their revenues from the states. All DC does is redistribute it after taking their vig. Buying votes with our money and extortion should we balk. Case in point, the over riding all expectation of privacy by our school children.

This wouldn't even be a discussion if the Federal Government left to the states everything they are supposed to leave to the states. The scope of the Federal Government is supposed to be a lot smaller than it is.

I don't truly believe any (1) one state can survive on its own that's why we area conglomerate of states. If it were to happen all federal aid would end for that state. No more unemployment benefits, no redistribution of tax dollars would cause extreme collapse of state, IMO.

I don't know. Seems reactionary to me. And there would be costs. What would become of the interstate highway system? Common defense? Common law? Federal disaster relief? National Parks? Ranger Service? Federal CONUS military bases? Would interstate commerce become international commerce? Would states mint their own currency? Establish their own versions of the IRS? Would states that want to control immigration use the National Guard - sorry, state militia - for border patrol? If a landlocked state secedes, would it be allowed access to ports for shipping? Seems it would be easy for the remaining Federal government to apply crushing economic pressure. No more Federal courts. All of this can be solved, of course, but would it be better?

Anyone even thinking about secession should start at home. First, refuse all your federal benefits, social security, medicare, VA education, and VA compensation. You can petition your state to budget for such things. But don’t hold your breath. Eight of the ten states which get the most federal dollars—the “taker” states, are Republican.

Good luck getting your newly minted money recognized and valued internationally. Will any nations or banks give your seceded state a AAA rating? When all the federal assets are gone, how will your state defend itself? Gonna buy your own nukes? Ships? Bombers?

But we’re really talking about Southern Red states seceding, aren’t we?
Despite the fact that 8 of the 10 states that took the most in federal dollars are Republican, Southern Southern Red states have the highest infant mortality rate, worst education systems, most traffic deaths and gun deaths. Their’s is the land of teen pregnancy. It has the greatest number of obese people, diabetics, strokes, and cognitive decline. In short, it’s been really expensive for the rest of us to send our money to those states. To make up for the lack of federal largesse, whichever state seceded will need to tax its citizens more.

And God help you if your chosen state decides that your version of Christianity isn't the right one.

No I would not. I understand the frustration with this Country, but we must be United. There are too many factors that would tear us apart if we tried to go it alone. What needs to happen is we need to go back to the 50 separate governments running the states in the best interests of their state. The federal government should solely be for looking out for the best interests of the country as a whole and maintaining the diplomatic relations with foreign entities.

I am pretty sure the outcome of the Civil War declared any attempt at secession dead on arrival. Also, like so many have said before it would cause way more issues than it could solve.

Depends upon which states are allied or parts of states, it would be regional, The more MY Nation shifts to the left and pamper's crazy muslim's and illegal's I cannot help but believe we are going to fail as a Nation next year 2017 when the Pushed forward Obama Debt hits the wall
