Will they kick out a soldier out for PT failure when he starts terminal leave in two weeks, will they keep him in to kick him out?

generally why waste the effort, both are honorable discharges. There would need to be some sort of compromise to unit discipline to compel a command to boot someone out two weeks early.

I've seen similar behavior, so I would guess it is possible. A bit of a douchey move on the part of the CoC, but I believe it could and (depending on the powers-that-be) would happen.

Depends on everything other than the PT thing. The only reason would be to expend the effort for a different RE Code to discourage a return later on. That would be characterized as earning a parting shot.

How long is the Soldier's terminal leave? Are they Active Duty or are they an Active Guard Reserve (AGR) Soldier? Different compos have different separation regulations. If you can give a little more information, I think I will be able to give you some decent information.

It honesty depends on the SM and the unit C of C.
Its an admin deal, but for obvious reasons could be used as punishment.
If the Sm has been a pain in the butt to the unit for the past year or 5, false accusations, Congressional investigations found to be unfounded, FTR, then return, AWOL then return, ect ect, the C of C could take the time and effort to retain and admin separate him in a way that might garner something other than honorable. General, general under honorable, ect,
But my experience says, most times that SM is just going to be let go, and the sooner the better..
If the Sm has built up some good will, even better and the C of C is more likely to say, have a great life, on your way.
If he has made it personal in a negative manner on his way out, well that too may be taken into consideration and influence the decision to Admin separate

Would appear to be a colossal waste of time since it could change the Re Code but not necessarily the character of service or discharge unless there is more to the story than what has been relayed in the question.

Well I don't know how it is in the Army, but in the Marine Corps, you get 2 fails before they process you out. After the 1st fail, they'll put you on the Remedial program. Then I think you have like 6 months to pass and if you don't, then you get the boot.

Sure, he's starting terminal, but until then he's required to maintain standards until his last day. Though I will admit that it'd be kind of a dick move to put your soldier on a PT test if they weren't able to pass it. But then again, it'd be a dick move on the soldier's part if he intentionally failed thinking he could escape the consequences. I've known a few of those.

Is it pointless to waste your time on someone that's about to get out, of course. But on the flip side, as a member of the military, he is receiving a paycheck in exchange for being in fit physical condition. Well he cashed the check, but did he live up to the bargain.

He returned to Ft. Carson from Germany deployment to start out processing 60 days ago, they made him take a PT test two weeks after his return and a make up today, but he is on profile. It appears the Company Commander is proud to discipline and kick them out, wears it as a badge of honor. The CSM of the Battalion in Germany asked returning soldiers if rear-d was as bad as everyone says it is.
