Looking through the regulations and can&#39;t find anything about it. Will the timing of an incomplete change of rater NCOER (to take a higher position within the Bn) impact my promotion chances? 2016-04-23T09:43:58-04:00 SSG Private RallyPoint Member 1473443 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>So I&#39;ve just been transferred to take a higher position within the BN, with the E7 board coming up will that change of rater NCOER not being complete yet hurt my chances for promotion? Do a COMPLETE THE RECORD NCOER in your new position. This will improve your chances for promotion, especially in a higher HQ and position. Good Luck! Response by SFC Joe S. I never received and NCOER rating me for a duty position higher than my pay grade, so I personally don't think it is as big a deal as some people think. If your records are complete. You have a current DA Photo (you would be surprised how many don't do ti). Your ERB is up to date and IN ORDER (ensure all past units and duty positions mirror your NCOERs). Your NCOERs are all 1/1s, you have nothing else you can do but pray because it is in the Promotion Board's hands. They look for different things on each board. You won't know what they are concentrating on until they release the board results. If you are concerned you have not had ample time to earn a good rating you should request a letter of continuity instead of a COR. However it is the rater's option. I chose not to do a complete the record when I had my look, because of my lack of confidence in the Rater and Sr Rater to reflect anything worth making an impact. The choice is yours. My choice did not hurt because I got selected first look. And by the way after they did do my Eval after, it was just as I thought, a down play of the significance of what I accomplished Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 24 at 2016 12:21 PM 2016-04-24T12:21:40-04:00 2016-04-24T12:21:40-04:00 SFC Private RallyPoint Member 1497896 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>No but trying to add it could. Even if you have the time in the slot to be rated, if your not getting that silver bullet then it is almost a waste. Remember the new NCOER has a rater profile and he can only "top block" a small percent. Have you done everything it takes to earn that top block? if not then you are asking someone to give you just a "regular" NCOER. Hope that makes some kind of sense. Lol hope all is well.
