Will the Army pay to ship our HHGs to our home of record since I'm going to Kuwait before my follow-on assignment at Fort Bliss?

I have orders to PCS fo Kuwait and follow on orders to go to Bliss. My spouse wants to go to our home of record instead while I am away. Would the Army pay to.have our things shipped to our home of record instead of our gaining installation?

They probably will pay you the lessor of transportation costs vs actual costs.

Military will pay the mileage but ONLY the mileage that would be from where you are now to your gaining station of Ft Bliss. If you choose to have your HHG shipped to your home of record then they can do that but any overage is on you, also shipping from there, once you return from Kuwait, is also on you.
