If your camp is prior to that, then it would probably be a diagnostic. But your Cadre could have other ideas. Best recommendation.....train for both.Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 9 at 2019 6:14 PM2019-10-09T18:14:39-04:002019-10-09T18:14:39-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member5108727<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Until 01 October 2020 the APFT is still the test for record. You should begin preparing for the ACFT if you have not done so already, as the Army will be giving 2 diagnostics during this FY. Training for the ACFT will also improve your APFT score, and total all around fitness. If you need a program, SOFLETE has an ACFT prep program that I use for my platoon PT just about everyday.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 9 at 2019 6:41 PM2019-10-09T18:41:21-04:002019-10-09T18:41:21-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member5108734<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Absolutely train for both. The ACFT start date has been pushed a year once already, and it could easily happen again. With the latest statistics showing that 85% of females failed the hanging leg tucks, the Army will likely give an additional year till they implement the ACFT in full force. During that time it's very possible that they will leave the APFT in place and use that for scoring purposes. For instance, the Marines have an APFT for scoring and an ACFT for PASS/FAIL and it's possible the Army could use some similar approach until they feel the Soldiers have been given adequate time to transition. It takes the Army years just to transition from one uniform to another, it's not unreasonable to expect it to take years to transition to a new fitness test.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 9 at 2019 6:43 PM2019-10-09T18:43:09-04:002019-10-09T18:43:09-04:00SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member5108846<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Not sure what MS2 means, but I would say it depends whether you are active or reserves. For me in the reserves I have no clue when we will have equipment, trained soldiers to lead the instruction and grading, the turf and grounds to administer the test, etc. We could see this years from know but it depends when the Army decides by a certain time when it must be in effect. <br />If you are Active then train for it. Personally I could pass the minimums for the ACFT and i haven't trained for it. I also am not a hugely active individual so I'm not already "trained" ahead of time for dead lifts or leg tucks. <br />Train well enough to pass those events for thr ACFT because ultimately you'll need to pass it. Just may have APFT as record and should be easier (except the run time) but you'll be ahead of the game when the time comes.Response by SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 9 at 2019 7:34 PM2019-10-09T19:34:17-04:002019-10-09T19:34:17-04:00CPL Gary Pifer5109255<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Depending on your MOS... Last guidance I heard while at DCC was that TRADOC programs can administer the ACFT as a graduation requirement for their school. It’s up to the cadre there. Other than sit ups if you can pass the ACFT then the APFT should be pretty easy for you. Me I suck at sit ups but did great on the ACFT other than the leg tucks (need more upper body strength). I’d be prepared for both since the cadre has a lot of wiggle room right now in TRADOC stations/school houses.Response by MAJ Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 10 at 2019 10:15 AM2019-10-10T10:15:47-04:002019-10-10T10:15:47-04:002019-10-09T18:13:09-04:00
